Same But Different

£380.00

I made this during lockdown as a response to the brief ‘Britain’ on Grayson Perry’s Art Club. I did it because I couldn’t even begin to think how I might depict ‘Britain’. So I had to do it. I made an island with rivers and train tracks and roads but they are all empty. The rows of houses are the same but different as are the people who inhabit them. There is nobody about but all over the canvas are red white and blue star sequins connected by silver thread which shows us all communicating by phone and zoom.
